More than 15 years ago, a colleague told me he had started swimming and signed up for a triathlon.
At the time, I had never swum the front crawl. In fact, water made me uncomfortable.
But something in me lit up.
“If he can do it… maybe I can too.”
That one conversation sparked something. A subtle but powerful shift — in how I spent my free time, my energy, and eventually… how I live.
So I learned. I trained. I raced. And I passed that passion on.
One year ago, my son finished his second triathlon of the season. This video captures that moment, the podium, the success.
But what it doesn’t show is everything behind it:
🏃 His first race of the season, where he went out too fast and burned out by the start of the run.
🧠 The weeks that followed, spent training — not just his body, but his mindset.
🎯 Learning to pace himself. To go deep. To prepare. To reflect.
📈 And maybe most importantly: Shifting from comparing himself to others... to listening to his own body and mind. Feeling his strength. Doing what he loves. Focusing inward, not outward.
He learned persistence. Strategy. Tactics. Ownership.
And he showed up — fully. Even off the course.
His mother and I couldn’t be there that day. But he didn’t just run the race — he captured it. He edited this video himself, using footage from his friend’s parents.
That quiet ownership… That’s what makes me proud.
It’s a chain reaction:
Inspiration → Drive → Action → Growth → Impact beyond yourself.
And honestly? That chain keeps shaping my life — in sports, in parenting, and in my work with others.
💡 Inspiration is powerful. But it’s what you do with it that changes your story.
For me, that first spark led to:
🏄 From being afraid of water, to triathlons, to full-on watersports (together with my son ❤️).
🚀 From the safety of employment to the unknowns of entrepreneurship.
🔥 From fear-based choices to courageous, joy-filled decisions in service of a bigger purpose.
Every step fueled by learning, failing forward, staying curious — and sharing what I discover to help others grow too.
That’s also why I do the work I do today. Helping others turn potential into momentum — through high performance coaching & training, and immersive events.
Reconnecting people with their own passion, purpose, and drive. Helping them listen to themselves instead of the noise. And live fully — with intention, energy, and courage.
This moment with my son reminds me:
The journey — of living your potential — matters more than the outcome. Because the outcome will come.
It’s the internal growth... the stepping outside your comfort zone... the insights gained through experience and adjustment...
Those are the real wins.
So let me ask you:
💭 What spark are you still carrying — waiting to turn into motion?
I’d love to hear your story.
